Boardwalk Robotics has introduced a humanoid robot named Alex. Designed for industrial sectors, Alex stands to revolutionize operations in manufacturing, logistics, and maintenance. As a commercial advancement, the robot currently operates without legs; however, in a collaborative effort with the IHMC, developments for legged mobility are underway. The prominence of safety in Alex’s design ensures it can operate seamlessly alongside human workers. Initially available for research purposes, Boardwalk’s Alex is primed for broader application in commercial environments like logistics and food service industries. Currently undergoing pilot testing with select partners, Boardwalk Robotics is actively pursuing new collaborations.
