Elon Musk’s AI makes strides in programming and math proficiency
Elon Musk’s latest version of the Grok AI, developed by his xAI team, now boasts notable enhancements, especially in the fields of coding and mathematical problem-solving. Dubbed Grok-1.5, this sophisticated AI has demonstrated considerable progress in benchmark assessments, performing on par with leading competitors like GPT-4 and Gemini Pro 1.5.
Remarkably, Grok-1.5 has enhanced its ability to manage extensive contexts, which has expanded its memory function significantly—up to a factor of 16. Despite these advancements, it’s important to note that this AI tool may still be somewhat behind in some respects, and it continues to face stiff competition, particularly from the likes of ChatGPT 5.
Previously, Grok was an exclusive offering to only the Premium+ users on the platform X. In an exciting development, Musk is planning to make it accessible to regular Premium subscribers as well. In a turn of events stemming from a legal entanglement with OpenAI, xAI has decided to make the code for the Grok chatbot available under an open-source license. This move not only reflects transparency but also stands to potentially benefit the wider developer community.
