# ElevenLabs launches a free iPhone app with diverse voices and PDF reading feature

ElevenLabs unveils a new free iPhone app for real-time text speech.

The startup ElevenLabs has recently introduced an innovative iPhone application that provides real-time voiceover for text displayed on the screen. Aptly named ElevenLabs Reader: AI Audio, this application stands out by offering not one but eleven distinct voices, ensuring users can find the perfect match for their listening preferences.

Additionally, the app exhibits an impressive capability to convert textual content from various sources, such as websites, PDFs, and other documents, into spoken words. This advancement is notable for a company that was established just the previous year and has already secured substantial funding, amounting to $80 million in January alone.

Looking ahead, ElevenLabs plans to broaden its technological influence by integrating its voice-cloning and dubbing advancements with platforms frequented by content creators, such as YouTube, as well as engaging with film production houses and news outlets.

Despite the excitement surrounding the application’s launch, there is a rising concern about how it might be exploited for less savory activities, particularly by those aiming to spread disinformation or perform malicious internet pranks.
